Any genre, time period, language and anything else. What are your favourite tv shows?

Favorite show in General for me would have to be how i met your mother. It's a great comedic show that ended last year, and probably my favorite part is that everything always seems to come back together, not a single word is out of place. It's like the writers (and even actors and directors) watch each and every single episode again from the beginning before doing yet another episode.

While my favorite series are on TV now, they are not how they used to be. I greatly enjoyed The X-Files, back when they were based in Vancouver. (After moving to LA, it went downhill.) I loved Doctor Who when RTD ran the show, and the few episodes I didn't like were from Moffat.

Do we have to list them? I love police procedural, scifi, medical drama (yup, mostly US and UK tv series); mostly because tv shows in my country are grabage.

I'm digging Wuxia tv series just now. The best ones are Xuan Yuan Sword and Swordsman (2013), both classics.

Fringe (not including the last season), Doctor Who, Grimm, Limitless, and Elementary (when I catch it)
Mostly British mystery shows.

Lost.
While far from perfect, no show has ever captivated my attention or my imagination quite like Lost has.

Difficult to say which are my favourites, especially since I have a wide range of tastes and have been watching for ~50 years. They would include Doctor Who, [assorted other SF series over the years but that's the main one still ongoing at the moment] - see my like to lordroel's previous post. Casualty - a BBC hostpital drama that's been going on >30 years Quizzes, especially some of the classics - University Challenge, Mastermind but also some of the new ones, Eggheads, Only Connect, The Chase. Robot Wars, although I think it was better in its previous version ~12 years back. Probably just a factor of my age. Horizon - another long running series, about science, although not on as much nowadays. Just about anything by David Attenborough.
