I just want to say this really quick. While Sogno di Volare still hasn't been released (still eagerly waiting for it), I have been watching some lets plays, and one song does really catch my ear. Here's a video with said song in it (if you can hear it over the lets player making a ton of silly mistakes) Song starts at approximately 15:45 That does sound good! Reminds me of one of the war themes from Civ V, though I'm not sure which one.

It sounds familiar to me to, although I know I don't know it from Civ V, because I always had the music off (and when I didn't, I still rarely went to war). It almost sounds like something I played in band class a couple of years ago or something...

I think I was thinking of Carthage's war theme - a song I've listened to for many hours when I got sick of everyone's nonsense and decided to conquer the entire world. In retrospect it doesn't sound awfully similar, just has some of the same instruments:

Gorgo also leads Greece in Sid Meier's Civilization VI
Look out, there's a lot of people getting TRIGGERED in the comment section.
Aztecazons, away!
Anyways, we already got an Athenian for Greece, so it's an obvious choice for a parallel they needed a Spartan. Many are clambering for Leonidas (you know, the guy that lost at Thermopylae, although only after doing severe damage to the enemy).
I also like seeing the contrasts between the two chosen leaders. Pericles holds a scroll, Gorgo holds a spear.

I like that they're bringing back multiple leaders per civ and giving them each a unique ability - do we know if each civ will have two leaders at launch, or are only some civs getting multiple leaders? Also, I like her animations, they're much better than Tomyris'.

Hey, you know that Sogno di Volare thing? Yeah, it's still a thing, and we finally get a sneak peak into it
Civ VI is Eurocentric confirmed.

It might just because we're so use to hearing Euro-style orchestral music that hearing yet another, no matter how good, will never live up to an amazing Afro-style song. But nonetheless, I understand what you mean. I like it, but it just doesn't blow me away like Baba Yetu does (although, I predict I'll still like Sogno di Volare more, just because I am a Eurocentric) Anyways, the devs did another livestream. While it mostly focused on the gameplay itself, they did talk a little bit about how both the difficulty will work and how multiple leaders will work. Yes, Gorgo and Pericles can be in the same game.

This looks interesting, but Civ looks like it has gotten a lot more complex since my day. My day being Civ II, though I also played Civ III (I did play Civ IV, but only Colonization, which was very largely the old Colonization with new graphics). I used to play a lot of strategy games, but mostly haven't played any games much in the last 8 years or so (I got old).
So basically, I just want a Civ II remake with a better AI and better scenario editing.

Spoiler Alert: this is the start up video for Civilization VI, so if you're waiting until it comes out, don't watch this video
Last week to release, everyone!

Spoiler Alert: this is the start up video for Civilization VI, so if you're waiting until it comes out, don't watch this video Last week to release, everyone! Focusing on an individual who's not especially important seems like an odd direction for a Civ video to take, considering you spend the game controlling an entire civilisation from an omniscient perspective. I did like the "twist" at the end though, with the wife in the spaceship instead of the husband.

I did like the "twist" at the end though, with the wife in the spaceship instead of the husband. I think they (as in Ed Beach and crew) were trying to go for the same idea in the opening movie for Brave New World, where they were trying to go for a "the world is made up of individuals" motif to some extent, but still had to adhere to the Civ V opening movie formula. Now with a new game, they had freedom to make their own opening movie formula. And also, the reason the wife was in the spaceship was because Sean Bean's character died (big shock, I know)

So apparently Civ Vi is out and I'm just not allowed to play because I'm offline (probably because Steam can't confirm that Civ VI is out)

Here's the long-awaited Sogno di Volare, by Christopher Tin:
I don't know if I like it as much as Baba Yetu, but I do like it a whole lot. Apparently it's based on a Da Vinci poem, the same one quoted for the Flight tech in Civ IV, or so I've been informed by Huehuecoyotl.

Prepare for the return of my favorite civilization from Civ V, for Jadwiga leads Poland in Sid Meier's Civilization VI
Most Passive-aggressive civ ever.
But oh boy, it's almost everything I want from a civilization. Extra gold, super awesome units, more gold, passive-aggressive territory-taking and stealing, more gold, extra culture and religion spread, more gold. There's not much more I could ask for!
edit: someone else also pointed out that this is a way to steal wonders. Have fun!

Of all things, John Curtin leads Australia in Sid Meier's Civilization VI Australia would probably come at the bottom of a very long list of Civs I'd like to see in the game. That said, Australia is probably the best Coastal civ in the game. Britain and Japan both certainly like being closer to the Coast, but their bonuses aren't as massive as Australia, who practically needs to be on the coast all the time There's also the upcoming "Australian Summer" (winter) update, which, among other things, will include balance changes, Multiplayer Teams, and, for me the most exciting, Steam Workshop. Hopefully this includes the map-maker. civilization.com/news/entries#civilization-vi-australian-summer-2017-update-multiplayer-teams-mod-tools

Then when it no longer matched up with a new machine I upgraded to Civ V I think it was. However could never seem to work out how to play the damned thing. There were a hell of a lot of extra units and abilities but couldn't really understand how to use most of them so never really got into it.

I must admit that's my problem. Played Civ II for a decade or more. Then when it no longer matched up with a new machine I upgraded to Civ V I think it was. However could never seem to work out how to play the damned thing. There were a hell of a lot of extra units and abilities but couldn't really understand how to use most of them so never really got into it. I never played Civ II, but I found Civ V to be a lot easier to figure out than Civ IV. Maybe it was because I was a lot younger when I played Civ IV, but the implementation of one-unit-per-tile made warfare a lot more intuitive for me. If you ever want to give Civ V a go again I'm happy to give some tips and answer questions about it - I'm not a pro player by any standard, but I'm at least competent.
