Occupied Sicily June 14, 2016
General Albert Giles was envying the late General Norbert Hayes right about now. The ongoing resource pinch caused by Imperial submarines was gradually eroding his ability to fight the Sicilian rebels. And now with the Empire controlling both entry points into the Mediterranean, things were bound to get worse.
You may have been a traitor, Hayes, but you were a lucky traitor thought Giles as he watched a building burn across the street. You didn't have to deal with this shit.

Rosas watched as the cadets took aim with their rifles. While he hadn't been able to get a role on the frontline, he had been allowed to provide sniper training in Britain. While he missed the battlefield, he was also grateful for the chance to provide a new home for his family.

Oswald stared in discouragement at the report before him. NUSA was losing ground in Finland rapidly. Oswald was giving serious thought to abandoning the region as a lost cause, but he didn't want to be seen as giving up more territory.

Lieutenant Derek Canning zeroed in on the British carrier, pushing the throttles forward.
Unfortunately, just as he was prepared to launch his missile, one of the carrier's AAMs hit home, obliterating Canning and his aircraft.
On HMS Prince of Wales, the crew added another shootdown to their tally.

General Lord watched as the Americans filed out of the barracks with their hands on their head. Out of 2,000 American defenders in Tangiers, only 20 had been captured alive.

Special Prosecutor Clark DuPont watched as the defendants filed into the courtroom.
While most of the ORRA personnel involved in the genocide of Russians in Alaska had been summarily executed by the Canadians, the people at the top had been ordered spared. Now, they would face justice for their crimes.

Oswald shook his head as he watched the news on the televisor. Apparently, the Canadians had decided to conduct a little show trial of the ORRA personnel captured in Alaska.
"If they want to play this game, then fine" he told Acting Sky Marshal George Bush III. "Tell ORRA to execute all Canadian POWs immediately."
Bush saluted. "Consider it done" he said.

Beneath Columbia, South Carolina August 1, 2016
There was no denying it: Taylor and his staff were doomed. Their food supplies were running desperately low, and nobody on the outside had made any contact with the bunker. Of course, even if they knew whether it was safe to come out, the only exit was still blocked by rubble.
But Taylor was determined to go out on his own terms. Sitting down at his desk, he took a pistol from the drawer, put it to his temple, and pulled the trigger.

Admiral Thames was here to watch the first tests of the Leonidas missile. Of course, being a test run, the missiles were fitted with dummy warheads instead of the real deal. A group of convicts had "volunteered" to pilot them.
Nonetheless, the results had been promising. Out of 20 launches, 17 had been successfully steered into their targets-old destroyers that had been re-purposed as target ships.
