Hey everyone, here's a thread for you to post your alternate history and otherwise fictional wikiboxes! To start, I'll post my "Gotham City" wikibox that I created prior to all this. Hope you all enjoy it, and happy editing!

A fairly silly AH wikibox I made a while back. Basically in the mid 1930's the Allies land in Germany and take over the government and put a constitutional monarchy in power. Hitler escapes to Switzerland and becomes a political figure there. This was in my earlier days of AH, so it's pretty dumb. I hope you enjoy.

mapmakermapmaker.deviantart.com/art/California-General-Election-2035-578419201?ga_submit_new=10%253A1450313083The California General Election of 2035 is considered to be one of the most significant realigning elections in the country's history. In the first 14 years of its existence, the California Republic had a very left-leaning "2 1/2" party system: the center-left Democratic Party was considered the natural governing party of the country (continuing over from the old United States); prior to 2035, it had won at least a plurality in both the Senate and Chamber in every election, and had won an outright majority in both in the 2022 and 2031 elections. The left-wing Progressive Party was jokingly referred to as the "Shadow Party", as they ran to the left of the Democrats but seemed to operate under the assumption that they would never gain a majority, or even a plurality. They consistently dominated local elections in the Los Angeles and San Francisco regions, but rarely finished above second elsewhere in the country and always finished second nationally. Rounding out the First Political Period (a term used by historians to refer to the first era in California politics, from 2021-2035) were the Freedom Party, the center-right party, and the Copper and Silver Party, a regionalist party that only contested seats in the North Nevada, South Nevada, and Arizona regions and whose primary purpose was to secure a self-determination referendum for those three regions. Despite deliberately avoiding the word "Conservative" in their platform and name (which had become greatly stigmatized after the Second American Civil War), the Freedom Party remained the perpetual 1/2 of the system, gaining enough seats from rural voters and business interests to remain semi-competitive, but never seriously posing a threat to the Democrats or the Progressives on a national level. Historians generally point to two main causes for the results of the 2035 election. First, the Recession of 2033 significantly reduced confidence in the Democrats' ability to govern, and the Progressives appeared weak and indecisive in their criticism of them. Second, the Reno Incident, which occurred just two months prior to the first round of voting. On 2 April 2035, a group of Copper and Silver Party members protested outside the North Nevada Regional Assembly, demanding that the city council (controlled by Progressives) allow the party to register and fly their flag outside the Assembly alongside the Freedom, Democratic, and Progressive parties. When the police confronted them, a miscommunication led to them open firing and seven protesters being killed. In the aftermath, Progressive leader Hector Ortiz made a major gaffe and appeared to implicitly condone the killings; in response, the Progressives lost nearly every Chamber seat in the Extra-Regions (a term used to refer to North Nevada, South Nevada, and Arizona) in the first round of voting, and the Copper and Silver Party saw a major upsurge in support which led to the majority of their candidates advancing to the second round and the general election. On 2 and 3 November 2035, the Freedom Party won the first national victory in their history, decisively defeating the Democrats and Progressives in both the Senatorial/Popular Vote race and the Chamber elections; in the latter, they won an outright majority. The Democrats lost nearly half of their seats and were relegated to the opposition for the first time in their history. The Progressives did a little better, losing only 19 seats, but the result was considered disappointing all the same, especially given the party's near annihilation in the Extra-Regions. The Copper and Silver Party, building on the Reno Incident and their success in the previous elections, won the best results in their history. Only in South Nevada did they fail to win a plurality, just barely losing the popular vote total to the Democrats. In the aftermath of the election, Megan Lu and Hector Ortiz resigned as leaders of their parties. The Democrats, humbled and doing some soul-searching in the aftermath of their defeat, struggled to find a replacement for Lu. After winning 80 seats in the Senate, the Freedom Party agreed to a minority coalition with the Copper and Silver Party in exchange for a self-determination referendum to be held no later than 31 December 2037. Holding power for the first time, the Copper and Silver Party sought to expand its platform beyond Extra-Regional Autonomy and further define its role in the political process. As the new year started, Freedom Party leader Marcus White took the oath of office and become the first non-Democratic First Secretary in Californian history. Notes on the Political System:California is a semi-presidential republic, with the President acting as the Head of State and the First Secretary acting as Head of Government. With few exceptions, the President is required to be politically neutral and his powers are mostly symbolic. California elects its government using a parallel voting system: the Chamber of Representatives is composed of single-member districts elected in a two-round "jungle primary" system similar to what California uses IOTL. The Senate is elected via proportional representation based on the overall popular vote in the second round/general election, with seats distributed geographically based on vote share. (For example: Most of the Progressive's Senators are from the San Francisco and Los Angeles Regions, since the majority of their votes came from there.)

So, now that I'm going to continue Our Fathers' Stars here on Althistoria, I've decided to start porting over my wikiboxes as well. It's the eve of the primaries for the 2068 U.S. elections, and the American Moderate Party (AMP) has fallen into internal strife. Having consolidated from the Democratic-Republican establishment pact following the Vienna consensus and the beginning of the Long Crisis, the AMP successfully led the U.S. through the May 31st Rebellion and the Water Riots, governing as the unquestioned ruling party. However, with the Long Crisis drawing to a close and with civil society reawakening across the west, the party has come to a crossroads. The party's conciliationist faction, centered around governor Leona Hoag, seeks to find compromise with the increasingly influential opposition parties, abandoning some of the party's hardline Technocratic stances in favor of a new political consensus. Others, such as the Speaker David Stamm, see such a motion as a threat to America's security and economy, and seek to crack down on both the opposition and the wave of Synthetics Rights protests. Still others, such as Santa Clara Senator Dustin Raya, are afraid that any drastic action in either direction could offend the Oligarchs or alienate the Zentrum, actions that would cost most of the party leadership their funding.

That's so creative! I also love that it takes over its place in the table from Meitnerium. Is that iridium for its picture?

Divergences: Revolution - A Wikibox Series Inspired by the world of the Victoria 2 Mod Divergences, this is one possible world, which is more republican in bent. Etrurian RepublicBy 1807 the German Wars have finally come to an end, and the renegade tendencies of Bohemia have been quenched by the First Coalition. But its ideals have not died, men still strive for freedom, and with reaction in full swing in the German lands, many flee south to Italy. The Valois King of France (Actually a rump state in Provence) has sent a new governor to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, and he has raised taxes. This results in a bread riot in Florence which quickly spirals out of control until the Army is called in. When the local soldiers are ordered to open fire on their countrymen, they refuse, and instead turn their guns on their leaders and they march to the Ducal Palace. The 'Provenzale' are quickly executed, and word spreads of the rebellion to the King in Tolon, who assembles an army with himself at its head and lands in Leghorn. The Florentines have not been lazy in this time, however, and quickly sent terms to the king, who promptly refuses and executes the messengers. Through the shrewd strategy of generals like Buonaparte and Trare the King is defeated and forced to retreat. And the Italian Revolution spreads throughout the Peninsula. It was only after the 'Holy Alliance' of Aragon, Venice, the Papal States, and the Dual Monarchy that the revolution was put to an end. Due to all sides being tired after 7 straight years of war, the Congress of Rome leaves the Etrurian Republic within the bounds of the old Grand Duchy, but returned the previous rulers throughout Italy to their thrones. Internal Politics renders the Etrurian Republic quite insular from 1813 to 1840 with most of its energies being expended on infighting among the 'Fazione' like the Radical Carmagnolesi, and the Liberal Priori. This however changed with the collapse of Aragon on the World Stage following a lengthy succession crisis where the Aragonese Cortes seized much of the King's powers. The Republic fomented rebellions through their 'Carbonari' rings that overthrew the reactionaries throughout Italy. The Great Powers of Europe were too preoccupied with their own rivalries: The Spanish with their lengthy campaign with Miranda's Columbia, and the Dual Monarchy with Bohemia and Burgundy. The Council of Italy was called in 1849 and was a resounding success with all of the now liberal states of Northern Italy uniting into the Italian Federation, the defeat of Aragon in the Italian War of Independence was the death knell of the Aragonese Crown, which was replaced by the Kingdom of Catalonia, which was quickly absorbed into the Spanish Sphere of Influence. The Republic of Etruria remained as a member state of the Italian Federation until its centralization in 1901 under the Second Italian Constitution.

"The election of cardinal Federico Tedeschini over his fellow friend and student Eugenio Pacelli (our Pius XII) was a narrow one but after the third-shortest conclave in church history, Pope Benedict XVI was made the new head of Catholicism in March 1939. Benedict XVI, who himself was a staunch proponent of Catholic influence in politics as well as minority rights soon came into odds with both the Fascist regime in Rome and the Nazi Party of Germany due to his opposition to their warmongering and their mistreatment of Jews. Based on his experiences in Spain, the Pope advocated heavily for peace and "true Christian virtues", such as a German withdrawal from Poland and "occupied Austria" as well as diplomatic negotiations to end the war as soon as possible. Sadly this plea was ignored and instead his Holiness tried his best to communicate with the German resistance, the Italian underground opposition and the Jewish community in western Europe until the Second World War ended in Europe on 28 April 1945. But then an even bigger challenge awaited the Papacy and Benedict XVI made for a significant push: the reintegration of Vatican City into Italy under the condition that the Holy See shall have a seat in the newly established United Nations and that the autonomy of the Catholic Church within the Italian Republic (a continuation of Savoyard rule was "not to be tolerated", according to the Christian Democrats and the Holy See) would be guaranteed, including the creation of a separate region distinct from Lazio for the territories formerly belonging to Vatican City. With that move Italy became what, especially within the Soviet Union and its allies, a quasi-theocratic state. The Holy See continued to be involved in politics, even outside of Italy, actively pushing Christian Democratic movements in countries like Austria, West Germany and Ireland, as well as cooperating with "peaceful" Christian-conservative regimes in Latin America, Africa and on the Iberian Peninsula. Thus the Papacy became a major player in the new Cold War on the grounds of "Christian rights", a policy which would be continued by Benedict XVI's successors..." Oh and FYI: making that portrait was quite annoying using only Paint.net xD

"Alan Rickman's decision to go into politics in the late 1990s came as a surprise to many but as a self-proclaimed "card-carrying member of the Labour Party", it made sense for him. After having filmed 1999's Galaxy Quest, Rickman decided to stay closer to home with his girlfriend (and later wife) Rima Horton, herself councillor on the Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council. While promising J.K. Rowling to play the role of Severus Snape in the upcoming movie adaptations of Harry Potter, the actor-turned-politician campaigned for the MP seat in the Regent's Park and Kensington North constituency, replacing the original Labour candidate Karen Buck, who didn't run again due to health issues. Rickman won. Due to his duties as MP, Rickman had of course to drastically reduce his acting time, focusing solely on the role of Snape, for which he would win much critical and fan acclaim, as well as the occasional short voice acting bit. After filming had wrapped up for the Harry Potter movies, Rickman was elevated into the shadow cabinet, responsible for culture, media and sports. After the 2015 general election, he became the new leader of the Labour Party, narrowly winning over Jeremy Corbyn, with whom Rickman shared many points but was seen as slightly too radical, especially in regards to foreign policy. Rickman is still in good health, though there are rumors that he does not seek to gain the title of Prime Minister in the next election, instead seeking a return to acting." RIP Alan Rickman...
