Well, my week will likely not be fun in some ways- have to spend time cleaning up my room in order to get some furniture for my brother...and to make sure my parents won't see certain things they would not approve of.

Yes, it's always best to hide your Marxist propaganda when the parenteoisie thought police come snooping. I've just spent a full day recovering from a weekend helping my dad who sells scale modelling supplies (tools, paints, glue, airbrushes, etc.) at conventions. I think I got 6 hours of sleep total over those two days, and I spent the rest of the time on my feet or sitting in a van. D: Next weekend won't be so bad though - there's only one small show and it's thankfully quite local, instead of 200 miles away!

And does your dad sell stuff relating to model aircraft? If so, I'd like to invite him to a place I help at: the world's largest R/C aircraft fly-in! (I and my fellow CAP members help park cars.) And my Saturday was long- I was working the polls- and this Saturday I do it again!

If people can set up stands/stalls to display models and sell stuff then he should be interested (he might be interested in going anyway - he does scale modelling stuff as a job because it's also his hobby). Where is it? And my Saturday was long- I was working the polls- and this Saturday I do it again! Is there a lot of work involved in working polls? Or is it just boringly exhausting?

Triple Tree Aerodrome, Woodruff, South Carolina, USA. (You and he may have to stay in a motel or in an RV (they do have facilities). Should you be from outside the USA, there are people who come from Europe to visit. Poll work can be boring, especially when it takes 12 hours of running open polling places. (Not counting setup and taking down.) You do have to help resolve disputes and figure out what to do in some cases. It isn't heavy lifting- though you are often on your feet.

Should you be from outside the USA, there are people who come from Europe to visit. Hmm, maybe. The only issue is that he'd have a hell of a time getting all his stock over there and through customs. I could give you his e-mail and you could drop him a message to see if he's interested, though? Poll work can be boring, especially when it takes 12 hours of running open polling places. Jeez, 12 hours on your feet not including setup/packing away sounds awful. I only had to be on my feet for 11 hours including all setup and packing!

Found a hospital patient's file alongside the road while I walked to my bank today (And it wasn't a local hospital!). Notified the hospital this afternoon, and planning to send it back via mail tomorrow. Also found a pair of black pants, 40 Waist 30 Length, dry clean only. Despite being alongside the road, it was pretty clean. Walking is not only cheaper than driving or riding a cab, you get to find all sorts of things!
As for the poll work, you do get to sit down for some portions- like checking voter's ID. I was still the youngest person working the place- and lowered the average by about a decade.

Weird, all I ever find by the side of the road is trash! As for the poll work, you do get to sit down for some portions- like checking voter's ID. I was still the youngest person working the place- and lowered the average by about a decade. I'm generally one of the youngest people at scale modelling conventions too - it seems like it's mostly a hobby for older, retired guys. I had my driving theory test earlier today, and managed to pass first try! Still gonna be a while until I'm ready for the practical test though, as I've only had 9 hours of driving instruction at the moment, but it's an important milestone.

Congratulations! I still don't drive! As for the RC models, a lot of older guys are into the flying models, particularly since both the capabilities and costs have increased...plus there's the old airplane glue stigma. (Of course, the new quadcopters are likely to increase RC interest...both for good and for ill.)

Helped my dad out at another show this weekend, and now my sleep pattern is all messed up again. I really need to find a way to get back into regular routines again after each of these shows.

I may apply for a job at an engraving place for a few months. I found out that my community college will be scheduling the class I need this summer, so I don't have to spend $600 to take it elsewhere!

Well, one of my tires blew out. The problem was that the hub-cap and the axel were so rusted that we had to call AAA and have them remove the old tire.

And that's good news with the college class! Awards and trophies. (I'm not sure I'll get the job, as I'm not that dexterous.) As for the money that I would spend on the class, it will likely go towards new glasses and possibly a replacement iPod Touch. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law was not in danger, but there was a guy who was threatening people where she worked (SC Department of Social Services) since they would not give him custody of his son. He got arrested yesterday. He had a gun, knife and machete in the car. www.wyff4.com/news/dad-made-threat-to-dss-workers-brought-gun-machete-to-dss-offices-deputies-say/38408266

Yo everyone! I'm back. While I was away from the forum I joined the US Navy and went into the Nuclear Corps. Right now I'm on delayed deployment, and so won't be shipping off to the Great Lakes Camp until September 6th, then Nuke School in Charleston a couple weeks later, and then eventually [CLASSIFIED].

Hope you enjoy my home state! (Try Bessinger's barbecue...the family is known for the best mustard-based BBQ, though the family was split a while back.) Make sure you stop by Patriot's Point- I haven't been there in years, and some of the ships I saw have moved (USRC Ingraham and the NS Savannah). I'll likely be in class a hundred miles away or so, so we may not get to meet.

I've gotten to touch some historical items in the past few weeks. A few weeks ago, I got to hold a replica Congressional Gold Medal. (The CAP one from last year.) Thursday, I got to touch a piece of girder from the North Tower of the WTC (On display at Bob Jones University, where I was invited to see an opera). Today, I got to touch a torque wrench used (and either broke or did not work) on an EVA at my local science center's Space Day. (Also got to see-and look through- a Clark Refractor telescope too!)

Those are still cool. Yesterday, we had quarter-sized hail. I need to upload my pic.
