Trump supporters are becoming disillusioned after his cabinet picks like Romney and losing enthusiasm for minority beatings. Enjoying watching that. The CIA and Senate called him out on the Russian puppet rigging after the Exxon executive chummy with Putin got state. I hope the electors don't confirm him and spare us all.

Well, while the media are parroting the CIA's claims that Russia hacked the election, and while most Republicans and Democrats are calling for an investigation, people are pointing out that there's no real evidence for the CIA's claims. harpers.org/archive/2016/12/the-new-red-scare/theintercept.com/2016/12/12/obama-must-declassify-evidence-of-russian-hacking/theintercept.com/2016/12/10/anonymous-leaks-to-the-washpost-about-the-cias-russia-beliefs-are-no-substitute-for-evidence/For that matter, the FBI (who handle cyberdefense and counterintelligence), are denying it. It should be noted that outspoken whistleblower Craig Murray states that he's met the leaker and that the leaker is not Russian. www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/12/obama-loses-war-whistleblowers/www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/12/cias-absence-conviction/www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/dec/10/cia-concludes-russia-interfered-to-help-trump-win-election-report?CMP=share_btn_twIf this succeeds, we could have something worse than Trump. This isn't the first time intel services have intervened to try and derail a candidate (See October Surprise, Nixon's dealings with Anna Chennault), but it is the first time they went public over it. If this fails, I hope Trump not only fires the CIA officials involved, but charges them for abusing their power for political ends. (I also hope he either shuts down Radio Free Europe or targets it at the dictatorship (Belarus) and nations trending towards dictatorships (Ukraine, Turkey).) As for Tillerson, I'm not that fond of him, despite wanting to end the new Cold War. He's an oil exec, and we know how they work. (He may favor intervention into countries with state-owned oil, such as Venezuela...or Mexico.) Plus, he's rather unconcerned about rising carbon emissions. Finally, he was recommended by Condoleeza Rice, whose track record is almost as bad as Hillary Rodham Clinton (Of course, Washington sees that as a good thing). There is one other candidate who may face opposition- the infamous John Bolton. abcnews.go.com/Politics/rand-paul-glimpse-trouble-trump-face-party-government/story?id=44110361&yptr=yahooSince Trump had no coattails, the Republican Senate margin was lowered to 2 & Pence. (And, for a time, it may be one and Pence, with Sessions resigning. The margin could have been lower, but Democrats have tended since 2008 to focus only on the Presidential race, with the concomitant negative results*, such as ignoring the Louisiana Senate race.) Meanwhile, in North Carolina, Pat McRory has finally conceded. This doesn't mean the worst is over for NC, as the legislature that passed the rights-limiting** HB-2 still runs their side. www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/state-politics/article120140738.html* There was a report that stated that the Hillary Campaign worked out an arrangement with various state parties, where the state parties got lots of donations, most of which were funneled to Hillary. (This was before she got the nomination, BTW.) The mainstream media were dismissive of this report, particularly as it was first reported widely by someone known for playing a reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper. It was confirmed in the email leaks- and promptly ignored. ** The media focuses on the section of the bill that prohibited mandating access to restrooms based on one's gender identity. In reality, it rolled back rights for various groups of people to be protected from discrimination, including denying the right to sue for employment-based discrimination in state court, and removing protections against discrimination for other groups where local laws were more generous than state laws (such as veterans). www.dailytarheel.com/article/2016/04/no-more-discrimination-cases-in-nc-courts-thanks-to-hb2

Well, last Friday, the CIA, FBI, and NSA issued a report accusing Russia of doing things to get Trump elected. Most of the report was simply a discussion of RT (or cover and end pages). There was no evidence presented regarding alleged hacking. The report included some interesting statements regarding Russia's goals and policies they promoted. Russia not only allegedly boosted Trump, but also opposed fracking, opposed police brutality, opposed "Wall Street greed", and supported Occupy Wall Street- all policies contrary to Trump. As a kicker, one of Russia's goals was, in the report's words, "an international counterterrorism coalition against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)." Seriously? The FBI, CIA, NSA and NID think this is a BAD thing? The report also claims that Russian opposition leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky is a "Pro-Kremlin proxy", and that RT shows like "Truthseeker" and "Breaking the Set" (both cancelled in 2013) helped influence the 2016 election. Read it here: www.documentcloud.org/documents/3254239-Russia-Hacking-report.htmlSupposedly the Brits let us know, though they obviously did nothing to stop it. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/07/russia-us-election-hacking-uk-intelligenceNeedless to say, the mainstream media is eating this up, despite the lack of evidence. There are some contrasting voices challenging it- some from surprising places. One is Masha Gessen, a longtime foe of Putin. www.nybooks.com/daily/2017/01/09/russia-trump-election-flawed-intelligence/Michael Tracy, as always, delivers a nice takedown. medium.com/mtracey/there-is-still-no-hard-evidence-for-russian-hacking-d7e12b6429dbHere's a nice takedown from Jeffrey Carr, a cybersecurity expert. medium.com/@jeffreycarr/can-facts-slow-the-dnc-breach-runaway-train-lets-try-14040ac68a55#.wq8g8um7jNow, there comes a report from BuzzFeed, alleging all sorts of things involving Putin and Trump, including some things not printable on this family website. www.buzzfeed.com/kenbensinger/these-reports-allege-trump-has-deep-ties-to-russia?utm_term=.lvNAKqx6q#.fbx31GZqGThe mainstream media is divided. Some are promoting it, while others point out that many of its statements have not been proven. The alleged source was someone doing opposition research on Trump for Clinton and/or Republicans. He allegedly gave the copies to various media outlets, the FBI, a British intel agency, and John McCain. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/11/trump-russia-report-opposition-research-john-mccainwww.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/10/fbi-chief-given-dossier-by-john-mccain-alleging-secret-trump-russia-contactsThere are some questioning the veracity of the report in the media- and not just among friends of Trump. Check out Glenn Greenwald: theintercept.com/2017/01/11/the-deep-state-goes-to-war-with-president-elect-using-unverified-claims-as-dems-cheer/?comments=1#commentsAnd Craig Murray: www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2017/01/hitler-diaries-mark-ii-hope-changed-mattress/And Michael Tracy: medium.com/mtracey/its-only-going-to-get-worse-the-trump-golden-showers-edition-4457703b96a5#.pgpeaxq2vMeanwhile, there's little to no investigation of another country whose intelligence service tried to influence the election- Russia's big foe, Ukraine. It was first reported here: www.alternet.org/media/anonymous-blacklist-promoted-washington-post-has-shocking-roots-ukrainian-fascism-eugenics-andAnd it just hit the (European) mainstream here: www.politico.eu/article/ukrainian-efforts-to-sabotage-trump-backfire/Of course, it should also be noted that a former Ukrainian (and Georgian) politician is no friend of Putin, but a friend of Trump... I am, of course, referring to the hipster tie-eater, Mikhail Saakashvili. www.npr.org/2016/11/24/503236202/what-will-presidential-relations-be-like-between-trump-and-putinwww.reuters.com/article/us-ukraine-crisis-saakashvili-idUSKBN1361NNwww.newyorker.com/magazine/2011/04/18/visiting-dignitariesIn other news, progressive groups turned the tables on the infamous James O'Keefe. www.alternet.org/media/conservative-con-artist-james-okeefe-busted-dirty-tricks-against-trump-protestersDemocrats are trying to counter Trump's tactics in dealing with the media. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/democrats-try-to-shake-up-approach-as-trump-shakes-them-up-with-tweets/2017/01/09/f0bbad0c-d694-11e6-9a36-1d296534b31e_story.html?utm_term=.1b97417eb997The former mayor of Salt Lake City is suing the NSA over warrantless wiretapping. www.denverpost.com/2017/01/10/lawsuit-nsa-olympic-spying/?shared=email&msg=failFasten your seatbelts...a bumpy ride is coming!

I'm getting more and more annoyed by people who call Obama, Clinton, among others "Socialist" or "Communist." I mean, we had an actual, self-labeled Socialist running for Nomination (and even got 1 vote for President from a Faithless elector), and people still call them Socialist. They had one barely Socialist policy for crying out loud! It's not like they breaking into Bill Gates' home to take all his money, collectivizing all businesses, or rationing all consumer resources

It's basically McCarthyism.

Since this thread seems to have become more and more "Minnesota Nationalist's designated place to complain," I'm going to go and complain about how the Pedophile Roy Moore is still somehow still leading in the polls for Alabama Senator. If this doesn't display the state of America, than it at least displays the state of Alabama, that they would rather have a Pedophilic Republican than a Democrat (who seems to be an all around good person).
I think the only worse is that the defense of Roy Moore supporters is simply "Better a Pedophile than a Democrat." How fucking degenerate. I think I'd have more respect for them if they say that they can overlook Roy Moore's pedophilia for his politics (Hell, some of my many political icons were horrible, horrible people outside of politics), but then even his politics are terrible. Roy Moore is just an all around terrible person, and the fact that he's somehow leading the race for Senator for Alabama is just horrific.

Well, now I wish that I had posted more. I posted a few things about Roy Moore on The Intercept's article comments. (I'm not sure why the media did not make a big deal of his FAR right religious beliefs and allies. Then again, when Alan Grayson brought up Daniel Webster's views, the media attacked...Grayson.)
Now, with the latest results from the Maple Creek Precinct in Greer, SC, we have some hot takes from the SC primaries!
Among the Democrats: Governor: Marguerite Willis: 35 James Smith (Who's being highly promoted): 28 Phil Noble (The only one here I heard of): 10 Smith has the lead in state results. He's a State Representative and Iraq War vet. He's been named the winner with 48% in. 4th District Congress: Brandon Brown: 24 Doris Lee Turner: 22 Eric Graben: 11 J. T. Davis: 9 Will Morin: 9 Brown is semi-well known locally. Turner has the money and is campaigning heavily. Graben and Brown are leading in the current results.
On the Republican side: Governor: John Warren: 88 Henry McMaster: 79 Kevin Bryant: 35 Catherine Templeton: 31 John Yancey McGill: 0 Warren is from the Upstate and is spending a lot of money on his campaign. He doesn't have political experience. McMaster is the incumbent, who took over after Trump kicked Haley to the UN. (Previously, he was SC Attorney General, and before that, he was Republican Chairman during the 2000 Presidential Primary Poll Closings.) Bryant is the current Lieutenant Governor and decided to leapfrog his boss. Templeton was an appointee under Haley, whose tenure was rather controversial. She's done other things that were controversial, such as using edited audio in attack phone calls and ads against Warren, and opening Black History Month by praising the Confederacy and guns at Bob Jones University. John Yancey McGill is a former Lieutenant Governor- and former Democrat. Right now the race is McMaster, then Warren, then Templeton. Secretary of State: Mark Hammond, the incumbent (who I met not long ago) is likely to win without a runoff. Attorney General: Alan Wilson: 94 William Herlong: 65 Todd Atwater: 64 Wilson is unpopular thanks to some known scandals like ties to statehouse corruption. (He's also the guy who wasted SC money in trying to remove the old voter registration cards due to alleged fraud.) Right now, he is barely avoiding a runoff, and Atwater may be the guy facing him. 4th District: Lee Bright: 79 William Timmons: 49 Dan Hamilton: 30 James Epley: 26 Josh Kimbrell: 19 Stephen Brown: 10 Mark Burns: 4 Claude Schmid: 3 Dan Albert: 2 John Mosser: 2 Shannon Pierce: 2 Barry Bell: 1 Justin Sanders: 1 Lee Bright is best known for taking on Lindsey Graham, proposing transphobic bathroom bills, and voting to keep the Confederate flag up. He's from Spartanburg County. Timmons and Hamilton are local legislators from Greenville County. James Epley is running on his veteran record. Stephen Brown ran against Bob Inglis long ago- and I literally broke bread with him once! (Long story.) Mark Burns is an African-American pastor and Trump surrogate. Shannon Pierce was the only girl on this side. Last I checked, the top three are Timmons, Hamilton, and Bright.
In other news, SC's first openly gay legislator (Jason Elliott-R-22 (My district)!) was still leading last time, and, thanks to a Trump endorsement (and maybe other things), Katie Arrington is leading Mark Sanford. Also, Archie Parnell won the Democratic nod in District 5, despite being caught having abused his spouse. (His opponent, Ralph Norman has his own issues.)
Update: Since I began typing, they called the Governor's race a runoff: McMaster v. Warren.
Update 2: Wilson is hanging around 49%. Bright has the lead for the 4th District Republican nod, with a close race for second.

Well, there are a lot fewer runoffs than I thought. James Smith got the Democratic nomination handily. Mark Hammond (Who I met late last year at a Notary training class) easily won his primary. All the state legislators challenged in Upstate runoffs (One Democrat, and two Republicans (Including SC's only openly gay representative) won handily.) The fourth district Republican race had a recount, due to closeness among second and third place. Next week, the runoff will occur! On the Republican side: Governor: Henry McMaster (Incumbent) John Warren (Greenville Businessman) Attorney General: Alan Wilson (Incumbent) Todd Atwater (Columbia lawyer- not sure if he's related to Lee.) 4th District: Lee Bright (Ex-state Senator-Roebuck) William Timmons (State Senator-Greenville) On the Democratic side in my area: Brandon Brown (University official and former candidate) Doris Lee Turner (Businesswoman) I have a feeling McMaster is unpopular, as two of his primary opponents endorsed Warren. (Including Templeton, who ran several attack ads on Warren.) So did BOTH the candidates for the Fourth district runoff. (OTOH, I've seen several places with Bright and McMaster signs in close proximity.) www.fitsnews.com/2018/06/15/sc2018-lee-bright-endorses-john-warren/As for national news, some people are turning to biblical exigesis regarding Jeff Sessions's recently citing Romans 13 to back the immigration crackdown. www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/06/romans-13/562916/It is a popular verse for those on the right.
