This needs to be a thing here. To start it off, here's an (very) old work of mine, arms for a nationalistic Irish Republic. The whole thing was inspired by Ramones1986 's flag on deviantArt.

While not made myself, I had these two commissioned from Fenn-O-Manic on deviantart. Alternate coat of arms for the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros under the Targaryans: LinkCoat of arms for a TL where Harald Hardrata and his successors united England, Scotland, Norway, and Jutland under one banner: Link

To counter the awful regional flag of Bohuslän I posted in the flag thread... here's our coat of arms, which is fairly old, and a bit better.

More of an emblem than a proper coat of arms, but this is something I made for a MotF entry I'm working on - the emblem of the Near Earth Celestial Prefecture of the Human State:

The Kingdom of Edom (based on coinage minted during the reign of Herod the Great, who was of Idumaean descent). The shield depicts a lebes, which is essentially a ceremonial bowl held by a sacrificial tripod.

Those, I fear, have been shamelessly lifted from Edom's northern neighbor, Israel. But since you brought it up...!The Middle Coat of Arms of the Reunited Kingdom of Israel (inspired by the Imperial Arms of the House of Solomon of Ethiopia, a (purported) cadet branch of the House of David).

The Middle Coat of Arms of the Reunited Kingdom of Israel (inspired by the Imperial Arms of the House of Solomon of Ethiopia, a (purported) cadet branch of the House of David). Nice! Is that shield with the grid of squares on it meant to represent the breastplate of the Kohen Gadol?

Nice! Is that shield with the grid of squares on it meant to represent the breastplate of the Kohen Gadol? Yup, though I must express substantial consternation with whomever described the order of colors attributed to the various Tribes on the Hoshen. Is consistency really such a difficult thing to ask of ~3000 year old sources? Since we're in the neighborhood, here's one for the Assyrian people of modern Mesopotamia. Bovids are not exactly fond of just sitting on their rear, so the supporters were a bit tricky. Anyone fluent in Aramaic feel free to hit me up with suggestions for a motto.

How did you actually post the images?

How did you actually post the images? You can add images to your post in two ways: 1. Click the "Add Attachment" button in the upper right and upload an image from your computer (this doesn't show up on the quick reply box - you have to click "Reply" to get the full post options). You can then click the "Insert" button next to the attached image to insert it into your post. 2. Upload an image elsewhere (personally I use imgur.com a lot, but people with deviantArt accounts often upload their stuff there first), then copy the direct link URL for the image, click the button above the reply box that looks like a landscape painting (between the envelope and the clapperboard), and paste in the URL.

And how can one be sure that when you're on Preview the image actually shows up instead of the URL'd link?

And how can one be sure that when you're on Preview the image actually shows up instead of the URL'd link? Well, if you're in Preview mode then the image itself should show up in the text box. If you're in BBCode mode then the URL should be within an image tag, which looks like this: [img src="http://i.imgur.com/tmZk5DW.png" style="max-width:100%;" alt=""]

SNIP Coat of Arms of the Most Serene Republic of Marseille. Basically a city-state that decided to secede from the French Kindgom after the great plague of Marseille in the 1720s. Actually looks damn good ^_^ Though I must complain, the arms of Marseille is a white cross on a blue shield and the traditional supporters are a silver (sometimes gold) lion and ox www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Marseille
