SHOCK RESIGNATION ANOTHER BLOW TO DE GAULLEIt appears poor President de Gaulle cannot catch a break! After his domestic and international poll ratings slump even further, prime minister Michel Debré has resigned from service under the French president. "I cannot serve under him anymore," Michel Debré tells the press, "it is weighing too much on my conscience. The French Republic would benefit if President de Gaulle himself steps down." Michel Debré is the most high profile voice on the French right calling for President de Gaulle's resignation. The president is yet to comment on these statements. WE STAND WITH YOU!
Hundreds of protesters immobilized Paris for hours yesterday, all in solidarity with French Algierians who have, in recent months, endured harsher conditions thanks to new laws enacted by President de Gaulle. Police were ordered to shoot to disperse protesters but it appears they have refused to do so, instead standing stalwart in defiance. The student movement "Left Arm of the Republic" organized the protest and have even spoke out in favour of the terror attacks that have shook France. "Left Arm of the Republic" has been placed on a watchlist by the government who are considering to ban the organization. The French Section of the Worker's International have tried to distance themselves from the movement although other mainstream political groups, such as the PSU have embraced the new current of thought. Leader of "Left Arm of the Republic" Pierre Lamonte was quoted as saying "God bless the FLN! God bless Algeria! Down with de Gaulle and his rightist stooges! The Left Arm of the Republic will organize into a political party later this year, if the government decides to ban us we will only grow stronger."

The French Republic votes no to the Congolese Resolution.

Central Daily News - Asia Supplement 中央日報 - 亚洲新闻副刊
The Official Newspaper of the Kuomintang's supplement looking at news in Asia beyond China
Rumble in the Jungle
War is an old acquaintance of Indochina, but the virus of communism has brought a new danger to the ancient people of Laos. Many veterans of the KMT forces stationed in Indochina after the war will remember well the difficulties of conducting a major campaign in the region - the weather, the heat, the mud, and the poor infrastructure. But this has not stopped both the world's superpowers from deploying dangerously close to one another. The USSR, not content with throwing a lifeline to the Pathet Lao last year, have now begun flying close air support missions for the communist side of the civil war; meanwhile the USA and her allies have in return begun similiar air campaigns on the side of the legitimate government. Everywhere Asia sees the dangers and perils of communism - for now war has come to near all Indochina, and all to satisfy naked communist greed that brooks no opposing thought.
Bolshevists Mass on Indian Border
As the fallout from Prime Minister Nehru of India's death continues, and Indian forces remain massed in Kashmir, both Pakistan and the Maoists have responded in kind. Pakistan was quick to deploy an equivalent force to that deployed by India to Kashmir on her border - not knowing that the new prime minister of India subsequently withdrew troops from the Pakistani border. However the Aksai Chin and the Bengali border are awash with communist troops that vastly outnumber their Indian opposites. Opposite the two Indian Army units in Kashmir stand five Maoist units - and in Bengal, no extra garrisons yet face the three units deployed by Mao. It does not pay to trust in the common sense of Bolshevism, and India, we hope, is not too late to learn that lesson - not when a communist force so large is crammed in the tiny passes of the Himalayan border regions.

People's Republic of China 中华人民共和国
Dedication to Peace in Southeast Asia As violence once again erupts throughout Southeast Asia, China issues pleas for peace to all governments in Laos, Vietnam, and Burma. While China continues to recognize the governments declared in Hanoi and Vientiane as legitimate, the People's Republic also stands firm that peace in the region cannot be gained through only more war. Coming off of decades of civil war and war against the imperialist Japanese, the People's Republic of China pleads that Southeast Asia not subject itself to the same terrors and work toward cooperation and co-habitation with peoples of the region. The People's Republic of China would even point out that though it does not recognize the government of the Province of Taiwan, which calls itself the Republic of China, as legitimate, it does not needlessly engage in war when peace works better. Towards the end goals of peace, China is willing to host peace talks between all sides in Burma, Laos, and Vietnam, and work closely with the governments of the Soviet Union and United States toward a resolution all can agree on. Further war will only achieve lasting bitterness and destruction of beautiful and great countries.
China Stands Firm With Pakistan Since the betrayal following the Karachi talks by the Indian government, China continues to stand firmly with Pakistan and Ayub Khan. Chinese forces will continue to be stationed in bases near, but not over the border, India until such times that India either once again comes to the peace table regarding Tibet and Kashmir, or at least is able to peacefully come to a conclusion with Pakistan. In all these matters, China will continue its aiding of Pakistan in all ways possibly and steadfastly refuse to move its soldiers back until peace is achieved. However, it should be known that the People's Liberation Army will not attempt any military operations unless first provoked; China is not coming to South Asia as an aggressor, but rather a peacekeeper to aid the smaller but no less just Pakistan against their larger rival in India. China also strongly encourages avoiding the use of force in taking back Goa. The Chinese government would point toward Hong Kong and Macau as areas of European influence that can be peacefully worked back into the nation rather than bloodily taken over. While China considers its working close with Pakistan an alliance, China recognizes that it is not a member of SEATO or under any obligations to other members of SEATO. However, the PLA is willing to work with SEATO forces in Pakistan (and avoid working against them in Southeast Asia) should the need arise.
The People's Republic of China and the Atom Around the world, people have been shocked to hear that the People's Republic of China has begun a nuclear program, the first domestic program in East Asia. Though it has been cause for alarm, the People's Republic of China would like to assure the governments of the world that the project is strictly for the pursuance of electricity generated from nuclear power and, eventually, toward a domestic space program. China, at this time, is not pursuing nuclear power in order to weaponize it. While governments of the world may object to such a goal, the Chinese government would like to quote a speech by none other than President Dwight D. Eisenhower of the United States, delivered to the United Nations General Assembly on December 8, 1953. It is as follows: "It is with the book of history, and not with isolated pages, that the United States will ever wish to be identified. My country wants to be constructive, not destructive. It wants agreement, not wars, among nations. It wants itself to live in freedom, and in the confidence that the people of every other nation enjoy equally the right of choosing their own way of life." Just as President Eisenhower sought to create a country that used nuclear power for construction, for opportunities rather than limitations, so too does China. Toward this end, the Chinese nuclear program will seek to develop reactors for the eventual use as power plants and missiles toward the use for vehicles to escape the Earth's orbit and ascend into space. While the PRC recognizes that true nuclear power viability is far on the horizon, the technology has moved fast. The Obinsk plant in the Soviet Union, built in 1954, only produced 6MW of energy. Just two years later, the United Kingdom's own Calder Hall station produced, and continues to produce, 60 MWe in each of four reactors. Who knows what the 1960s and beyond will bring? One day, China could power itself completely on electricity generated from nuclear power plants while its citizens watch Chinese men in space. It is a goal all of China will work for, and that should cause no alarm to the world.

PRAVDA - THE TRUTH, SINCE 1912_______ THE SOVIET SPACE PROGRAMME IS A SHINING SUCCESS FOR ALL OF THE WORLD
SOON, WORKERS OF ALL NATIONALITIES WILL UNITE TO TRAVEL THE STARS
READ >PRAVDA< TO CATCH THE LATEST NEWS - DOMESTIC, FOREIGN AND EXTRATERRESTRIAL_______ ALGERIAN WAR OF LIBERATION CONTINUESVolunteers of the National Liberation Army The internationally recognized armed forces of Algeria. The Algerian War of Liberation continues to ravage the North African nation, in the wake of the terrifying news from the gruesome Paris Massacre. After hearing the news of a tragedy unseen since the French Revolution itself, the amount of Algerian citizens rallying to local recruitment offices of the National Liberation Army in the rural free zones, to take up arms against the colonial forces. A representative of the National Liberation Front (FLN) posted in Tunis spoke recently to Pravda's journalists, have agreed to an interview on the condition that he may remain anonymous. This, he said, was due to the threat posed by the occupation towards Algerian civilians still living in urban centers, among them his family. "President de Gaulle has lost it, you see.", he stated with a grey face. "After the events in Paris, and recent less reported massacres in my homeland, it should be clear to all that he has absolutely no regard for civilian casualties, or the humanitarian disaster he is working to create. In fact, it is hard to classify him as anything other than a terrorist." He paused momentarily, collecting his thoughts. Recent estimates by the United Nations shows that the yearly amount of refugees from the conflict zones to neighbouring Arab countries has nearly doubled since 1959. "Consider that the Algerian expatriate community, and, really, all non-French minorities within the Republic, are currently fearing for their lives. There can be no excuse for this. There are always civilian casualties in war, of course, and sadly some are indeed caused by our forces too on occasion, but what the President is engaged in is little other than the initial stages of a genocide. He needs to be tried in an international tribunal for his acts." When asked about the allegations that the FLN themselves are illegal combatants and terrorists, given claims of attacks on French territory, the representative reject the accusation. "We are not against France. We're not against the French people. Just look at the recent upsurge in solidarity movements over there. We want the occupation to end, and for Algeria to join the international community in full, as an equal and free nation. For our children to gain a better future. That's all." As of now, the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic is recognized by most of the world's states, including the majority of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

The Republic of China in no way recognises the right of the Maoist bandits of the so-called PRC to form a nuclear arsenal that threatens the world. They maintain it is for peaceful purposes while scheduling nuclear tests even as we speak. Even more worrying to the international situation is their stated intent to develop the technology for space flight - something that would require the research of Category 6 Nuclear-tipped ICBMs to even have a chance of success. While the people starve, Mao's head is in the clouds. While the people suffer under the Kremlin's pets, his mind is on deceiving the international community. We call on the international community to condemn the aspirations of bandit-in-chief Mao and his clique to build a nuclear arsenal that could destroy not only China, but the world.

Radio Host: Hello, Radyo 1 is here today in Istanbul as President Gursel gives his thoughts on the Algerian Crisis...
*cheers as President walks to podium*
President Gursel: My fellow Turks, I am here today to talk about the injustices of de Gaulle's regime in France. We have fully endorsed former Prime Minister Debré's actions and words against de Gaulle's imperialist government. We believe that more politicians in France should follow suit! And even though our views might be different, we also endorse the Left Arm of the Government for being brave and marching the streets of Paris! And, further more the Parisian police that refused to kill the innocent protesters should be recognized for their actions! We, although do not endorse the terror attacks that have ravaged Paris. The men and women who endorse the actions of terrorists are no friends of Turkey. God bless Algeria and the Algerian people, and all in the world who fight against imperialism.
*cheers as President Gursel walks away from podium*
Radio Host: We will be having interviews with politicians, members of the audience, and possibly an interview with the French minister in Ankara in the coming hours/days. But for now back to the music!

Radio Host: Hello listeners far and wide, this is Radyo 1 broadcasting from Ankara! Today we have an update on the war in Cyprus, today there yet another peace attempt between a Turkish and Cypriot delegation in Athens earlier today. It, after a reportedly few tense days, once again a try for peace ended in failure. An Athens news station managed to get hold of a Cypriot delegate, and said the following:
"The Turkish delegation were asking for ethnically Turkish land, and our response was no. They have no right to be there."
The Foreign Secretary made a public announcement in Van in regards to the news, saying how "Even though the war is not over, and peace has been denied, we will continue to reach for peace."
We will continue to report from Ankara and the globe as the war continues. We here at Radyo 1 have the victims and families of victims of the war in our thoughts.
And now back to the music...

ALLIES UNTIL THE BITTER ENDRenown former freedom fighter and current government minister Christian Pineau has announced the French government is planning to give monetary assistance to the countries of Israel and South Africa. The announcement comes ahead of government plans to advance France's nuclear arsenal - a move that many believe would receive widespread international condemnation. The amount of monetary assistance to be given to the two countries has not yet been announced but the plans have already been hounded by left-wingers as indication that De Gaulle's government is trading nuclear secrets with Israel and South Africa. Both countries have often been the targets of international criticism. Pierre Lamonte, head of the banned political organization 'Left Arm of the Republic' wonders whether De Gaulle remembers the effects of the Suez Crisis and the "last time France and Israel worked with each other for malific means." The French government was accused of Islamic leaders worldwide for its enthusiasm to "combat Islamic terrorism with the great state of Israel." The French government as of yet has not made any controversial remarks about the apartheid regime in South Africa. TURN DOWN THE PRESSES!De Gaulle's government has again been widely condemned by the French public for seemingly moving closer to an authoritarian regime. After the radical leftist organziation 'Left Arm of the Republic' was officially banned in France, police officers made the move to break up LAR's meeting places. The communist newspaper 'Red Calling' put into print by LAR has also been officially disbanded along with many other news circulations the French government views as against the best interests of the French state. A junior government minister has been quoting as saying "all private newspapers must report to the Department of State Broadcasting before circulation. Any failure to do so will result in the dissolution of said newspaper and hefty fines for the distributors. In times as troubling as these, greater control of the press is needed for public safety." The banning of the 'Red Calling' comes after a spate of violence between the government and communist activists, ending in a few deaths.
