There's a nice long article in the LRB, from Seymour Hersh, on how the US Military has differed with the Obama Administration (and others) over the course of action in Syria. You can read it here: www.lrb.co.uk/v38/n01/seymour-m-hersh/military-to-militaryIt does have some flaws, in that it's likely that some military actions occurred prior to the date he gave. It's also not limited to higher-ups (Witness the protests from some servicemembers who posted pictures stating "I don't want to die for Al-Quaida in Syria's Civil War!" OTOH, at least one high-ranking military source went on the record (Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, head of DIA), as well as one political source (Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard), so the normal criticism of Hersh's relying on anonymous sources should be limited. There is one other disturbing thing. Even though I am opposed to the US's support for the Syrian rebels (Especially given the actions and connections of many of them), I do think that the actions by the military are a bit disturbing, to say the least. Your thoughts? Want me to post the article?

Isn't Hersh the guy that said that Opus Dei ran the US military?

Isn't Hersh the guy that said that Opus Dei ran the US military? Not exactly. He said there were quite a few members of the military who were members of Opus Dei or the Knights of Malta in a speech. He was likely overestimating and simultaneously confusing them with other religious conservative groups (Some of which are likely to the RIGHT of the KoM).
