Liberals have been reacting to Trump like they've woken up in one of the countries bankrolling the Clinton campaign.

I didn't think of preteens, I thought about teenagers. Or has "pupil" got an age limit in British English? The next time I take the American English form of "student", alright? Most teenagers would still be under the age of consent in either country, and teacher-student relationships are pretty creepy in general due to the potential power abuse on the part of the teacher. Skalka, Krall Two points of detail and one of opinion. a) Actually since the age of consent is 16 in Britain then most teens would be over the age of consent [ 4 years 16-19 v 3 years 13-15]. b) I don't know about elsewhere but in Britain pupil is used for any school child, or possibly also older students, so would definitely include 5-12 year olds as well as teenagers. I agree with Krall that their sensitive areas given possible victims, plus also newcomers might not take the thread as light-hearted banter and hence be put-off/repulsed. Steve

Guys Interesting idea although as Krall says we need to be careful of the possible impact on people who have suffered abuse. Also I think a number of posters have interpreted the OP wrongly. Many of the entries are 'shock' titles that would almost certainly result in the thread being locked and the poster kicked. A true flamebait title would be something that would be a fairly valid point of discussion but would be highly likely to prompt violent debate. [You don't actually need a contentious title if you have posters who have extremely strong views on the subject or simply personal antagonism. I have seen a fair number of perfectly reasonable titles that have sparked violent 'debate' and prompted locking/banning simply because of the people involved and their unwillingness to accept other views]. Some examples of 'Shock' threads, which I expect would very quickly result in a locked thread. Hopefully its perfectly obvious I agree with none of those: a) Nazi Germany, Civilisations last hope. b) The Perfect colony, Leopold's Congo Free State. c) Genocide, a vital step in improving the human gene pool. d) The proper apparel for women, the collar and brand of their master. e) Given the importance of slavery in Islamic culture, lets enslave them all. Some examples of possible/probable flame-bait titles that could well cause heated 'debate'. I might agree with some of those. a) Ten reasons why Washington and his fellow rebels should have been hung. b) Who was the worst king of England? c) Who was the worst President of the US? d) Thatcherism works [For the country its applied to rather than a small corrupt 'elite' ] e) Sub-Saharian Africans, the superior humans. f) Oliver Crowell, Ireland's saviour. g) The importance of Christianity in preserving the Roman Empire.
