So anyone who missed it on the previous place, this is Balance of Power, a turn-based game of geopolitics, beginning in 1961. Players take on the roles of the world's major nations and attempt to further their own goals amidst the espionage, underhandedness, and backstabbery of the Cold War, while trying not to see the whole world turned into a smouldering nuclear ash heap.
It took a long time typing everything up in the old thread, which I can't bring myself to redo right now, so I'll answer any questions people have if they don't remember what the old thread said. For now, I'm tentatively re-opening sign ups. If you signed up previously, you just have to post to reclaim what you had before.
USA - Usili vulgarbulgar (possible temporary substitute) USSR - Smyg PRC - Toixstory UK - istanbul France - Mooncat UAR - Gesar Cuba - aolbain Pakistan - Krall India - mapleketh Israel - zar Yugoslavia - machinekng Ghana - rinkou North Vietnam - oyid South Africa - contraindicative East Germany - ruth Turkey - tardis218 Iran - ankh Ethiophia - minnesotanationalist Congo-Stanleyville - snacks ROC (Taiwan) - coinneach
Important nations I'd prefer: South Vietnam West Germany North Korea Thailand Indonesia Greece North or South Yemen Saudi Arabia Nigeria
If you want a nation not listed here, have a chat or ask a question here and we'll see what can be done!

I'll reclaim the US again, and keep it permanently instead.

I'd like to argue in favour of anyone who's even remotely interested in the Cold War to join this. It's not only a fun, collaborative experience, it also gives you plenty of reasons to investigate and research the obscure, not to mention get new perspectives on things.

Putting down Krall for Pakistan and mapleketh for India, since those two are kinda needed to match each other.
Still hoping to nudge people for France, Israel, and North Vietnam... Anybody?

Alright, we're almost there! Two people I know elsewhere are coming in as North Vietnam and Ghana, so those are off the list - what I really need is a France!!

Friend of mine stepped in as France, he'll post later. All other nations now open, unless they're silly. Ones I'd rather have listed at the top!

Good to have you onboard, ruth! It's easy enough, there's stats and rules and everything, simple to figure out, I promise. And you can harass me for help any time hah.

I've forgotten most of the information from the ContraChronicle thread - do we each have set goals/victory conditions, or is it open-ended and we set our own?
