Just going to leave this here for anyone thinking they can do a sci-fi world with complete AI and just write them away as "They've been programmed with Asimov's Laws"

I've always liked the idea of a growing AI essentially being treated like a child. Gradually expanding it's processing abilities as you release more and more information and new concepts to it.
That way you prevent that trope of the ai finding A Clockwork Orange within it's first three seconds of existence and deciding that we're all cunts. Now it may decide that we're all cunts further down the line, but at least it's got some idea that humans are nuanced/flawed/sociopathic creatures beforehand.

He correctly said a lot of Asimov's stories were about problems arising from the laws, but I don't think he gave him enough credit. See for instance on the issue of degfining what is human that he brought up, . . . That Thou Art Mindful of Him.
