Okay. As we all know, Colin Kaepernick is being criticized for refusing to stand at attention for the national anthem. He's come under criticism. Others have pushed back, revealing that our current national anthem has a verse which could be construed as pro-slavery. This whole fuss has dragged up more criticism about how hard the anthem is to sing.
So, does anyone have any nominees for a new national anthem? They can be old or new, of any genre, and can cover a variety of things.
A few that will likely make the list: God Bless America My Country, 'Tis of Thee America The Beautiful Hail Columbia (My least favorite) The Stars and Stripes Forever The Battle Hymn of the Republic
A few I'd put on the list: Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod (Chester) by William Billings (1746-1800) Ode on Science by Jezaniah Brewer (Perhaps harder than our anthem to sing, though) Power and Glory by Phil Ochs (1940-1976)
Any more you may suggest?

As someone who has played The Stars and Stripes Forever (one of the hardest and most rewarding songs I've ever played) I definitely wouldn't mind that being our national anthem. In fact, in my mind it's the only song on this list that I'd consider an actual improvement over the Star Spangled Banner (the rest are about the same or slightly worse)(it should be noted though that I don't know the actual lyrics to The Stars and Stripes Forever, I just know the original, lyric free version).

Two others I'd add: Like: Lift Every Voice and Sing by James Weldon Johnson and John Rosamond Johnson Dislike: God of our Fathers by Daniel C. Roberts and George W. Warren.
