When I made the third map, I didn't even consider that climate change could have been a topic on the previous map. I knew that in the history of the islands, parts were covered by water or swamp, which would result in it not showing up on a map. The Quechua presence on the Isles threw me for a bit of the loop, but from the description I was given, I knew they were part of a larger empire with more advanced technology. Also, the map I was given specified that the European colonies lost contact with the American empires and that they were going into a technological recession, which in my mind opened them up to conquest by local regimes.

Like courageouslife, I assumed that the flooded areas of the Isles was due to an earlier time period rather than global warming. The first map confused but intrigued me, so I did some research and tried to come up with the most plausible scenario. I'm happy that my explanation helped guide the following maps so that things didn't contradict one another.

Awesome maps everyone! I also was pretty confused at seeing that there apparently used to be an Incan empire in Britain and I was also surprised that the time was so far back since I knew that I was near the end of the list. But I just decided to have fun fleshing out the rest of Europe based off of courageouslife's map and I love how nicely all the maps came together.

Man Krall, when you accidentally sent me the map that was supposed to Moralistic Communist, I was so preparing to make a map of my own. It's thankful that I figure out that it was actually suppose to go to Moralistic Commie instead of me.

Maybe it's just because I'm more aware of British geography as a Briton myself, but whilst the coastline around the Wash could be excused due to the swampy fenlands in that area that weren't drained until more recent centuries, the receding coastline around the Humber Estuary definitely stuck me as unnatural. Given that y'all didn't think climate change was a factor, what did you think the explanation behind Incan England? Sorry about that, both your usernames are "M- somethingSomething-ist" and I was a bit tired when I posted that. The Solastierra thing was a joke we had in a community. This was the perfect opportunity to expand it. Good round guys Care to let us in on the joke?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's just the British geography that changed, isn't it? If there was a receding coastline due to excessive global warming, wouldn't France and the Netherlands lose some coastline as well? I had no idea where Incan England came from. In the map I was given (#2), the description mentioned something about a "Blackpowder Conquest" and advanced technology, so I figured it was a scenario where the Incas discovered gunpowder ( kinda like the start of the first telephone map game). I was under the impression that someone had already covered the Americas, so I moved on to expand the scope of the scenario to Western Europe.

In retrospect I'm not sure all the changes to the British coastline in emprorlapland's map can be attributed to increased sea levels; most of it is consistent with sea level rise projections, but also the whole Isle of Anglesey is missing? I'm really curious to hear what emprorlapland's original explanation for all this was. Seems reasonable. Though you didn't need to avoid the Americas just because someone else may have covered it - reinterpreting the same region based on what little information you've been given is half the point of the game, after all.

I'll tell you the origin of Solastierra. In the hispanic community, there was once a guy called Perusiño, he used to draw countryballs with mouth and he was always talking about the Inca, to the point he became a meme. One day, another guy created a mapping Role Play in which we could create nations, Perusiño joined and created the nation of Solastierra, an Inca state in Southern England, and his king was named "Arthur Yupanqui". It was really stupid, so we got a good laughs with it. This was the perfect oportunity to make a map I had wanted to do for a long time, I wanted to see how people would react the concept and how they would interpret it

I can't see maps one or three. Do you know why this would be? Both maps were linked from deviantArt, so it seems something caused the URLs for those images to change, breaking the images in that post. courageouslife's map is still on dA here, but emprorlapland's appears to have been deleted.
