How would history be different if India was not divided at independence. India today is OTL India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. There is a Moslem population of 30 % not 14 %.

This might result in an India that is more dysfunctional and harder to govern--a la Bosnia or Lebanon. On the flip side, though, we'd avoid seeing the mass murder and ethnic cleansing of the partition of India and thus there would be more diversity in various parts of India today.
IMHO, the partition of India was a good thing but it really should have been handled much better in order to avoid the extremely massive bloodshed that occurred there. In theory, though, the idea of separate states for west Indian Muslims, Indian Hindus, and east Indian Muslims actually does appear to make sense.
