My Entry: imgur.com/0kcAi0vThis map describes a province of the Kalasian Empire, an empire set in a Magitek world that is roughly at the level of OTL mid-1800s Technology. Magic is interwoven into industry, warfare, commerce, and people's everyday lives. The map in particular looks at the island province of Belynia: rich with minerals, but also laden with xenophobic elves that are quick to lash out at what they see as outsiders exploiting their sacred grounds. Frustrated with Elven attacks on civilians, the Empire built a wall to protect its people and holdings on the island. In this map, the Emperor has written a report to his Council that prepares a new border and wall on the island, to hinder further Elven transgressions. They will also secure the placement of further mines on the island (seen in light red). (Disclaimer: This map is fantasy and fiction, and I do not support any of the thematic content described herein, against elves or humans.)

A quick attempt at an entry. The rough history is that the Otomo come out on top after the Sengoku period with the help of Portuguese allies, and large areas of Japan gradually convert to Christianity. Later the Christians' dissatisfaction with the Emperor (partially due to their opposition to being ruled by someone claiming to be the descendant of a "false god") and an influx of new, revolutionary political ideas from Europe and the Americas lead them to stage a rebellion to replace the monarchy with a democratic republic, which succeeds. However the republic is less than perfect, and conservatives use any chance they can get to disenfranchise non-Christians and non-Japanese people (primarily Koreans) within the country, including horrendous gerrymandering of electoral districts.
