Yeah, it's been down for most of today. No idea why - some people think Ian might be upgrading it, but I find that unlikely since there was no announcement.

It's not like Vbulletin wad the most stable software ever, or if it didn't happened before that the admin was away when it crashed, tough.

Yeah. We've had a few crashes before. One was in September and another in November, so it's likely that it'll be a day or two at most. The longest I remember happened a few years ago and it was a few days.
Although it happened with some really shitty timing.

I have the same problem too; I really hope this isn't some cyberattack caused by some insane troll or something. It's bad enough that the forum its share of a um...crap spamming freak, so I don't think it needs another freak of a different type.

Meh, the software is crappy enough that it doesn't really needs helps to crash. All it needs is Ian not checking before some time for the board being down on a relatively long period (it happened before, and probably continue to happen as long AH.com is powered on the virtual equivalent of a Ford T working on steam)
Let's be clear, what you say is entierly possible, but I think that if it would have been the case, the attacks the-one-that-must-not-be-named did on others boards would have similar results currently.
It's almost too bad, because it might have lead His Majesty to actually do something about it.

Is there some trick to registering at AH.com? I registered about a month ago but never got an activation e-mail, and I sent two inquiries through the board's Contact Us mechanism that never got any response either (though I haven't checked my spam folder in about a week either).

I honestly have no idea how their registration system works, but this seems to happen every now and then. I can try sending Ian a PM for you if you want.

If you wouldn't mind, that would be much appreciated - I was kind of hoping to post my parliamentary democracy scenario over there too. I registered under FlyingSquirrel over there too. Thanks!

Do not know if this is the place to put it but it seems AH.com get a major upgrade ( read here), this means our forums will have lesser change to get new members with a new and improve AH.com being active.

Eh, I doubt it would have a significant influence. We'll definitely be more active whilst AH.com is down, but I don't think AH.com will be significantly more appealing after the upgrade.

I don't think that's the main draw of our forums - content and community are much more important, and AH.com has an established community with a huge amount of content. If people were indecisive about which forum to join, the fact that we have like buttons isn't going to be the reason they come here.
