So yeah. The first ever map game in this format. Thought I should get it a shot at trying to run this. I may or may not succeed at this. If someone who has more experience running these things I will totally take advice from them in trying to make this map game work out.
Again standard rules for map games apply. No ASB, try to have fun, be plausible (which at a later point in game will be nigh impossible due to how radically different the world will be), be respectful to other players and all that good jazz, and please save your maps as a .png.
Reserve your turn in your post. Also here's the map for OTL 1500 as the base map we will be using. I guess I'll take the first turn as well.

The momentum of the war quickly swung from a Muscovian offensive war to a Lithunian offensive war. With Lithunian forces pushing into Muscovian lands. The war ended with Lithuania taking Musocvian lands from both the vassals and Muscovy itself.
- However, John I Albert died a year after the wars end, leaving his brother Alexander Jagiellon to take the throne peacefully. As well as establishing a church union between the Orthodoxs and Cathloics in Poland-Lithuania.
- The Second Ottoman-Venitian War (1499-1503) ended in a Ventetian victory. With Venice taking lands from the Ottomans in Greece, after the Venetian turned their efforts into targeting Ottoman trade ships to hurt the Ottomans' economy to hinder their efforts in the war.

1510-1519 Europe- A reduced Muscovy falls heavily under the influence of Novgorod, finding itself essentially vassalised in return for military protection from hostile powers such as Lithuania and Kazan (which I assume the olive-green nation to the south is). - Malta becomes a region of dispute between the expansive sea powers of Aragon and Venice, building friction between the two. - Henry IX, the child of England's Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, is born. - The Scandinavians add Åland and Gotland into their realm, creating a slight dilemma as is found that Poland has had its own designs on Gotland and has even created an outpost there. They may be able to settle things though as both Scandinavia and Poland have designs on the Teutonic Order, with Scandinavia adding a claim to Estonia... - The Earls of Kildare, concerned about the threat of increased and irreversible English control of Ireland, begin talks with the other Gaelic Lords about creating a stronger sense of unity for the Irish people leading to what could perhaps become a centralised nation on the island free of outsider interference. Most other Lords across Ireland are intrigued by the idea with the exception of the rebellious Earls of Desmond who prefer the status quo and would rather not give up independence and power to anyone. Asia and Oceania- The Ottomans expand their power projection eastward after their embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Venetians, adding two sultanates into their sphere of influence and vassalising them in exchange for military protection. - Two large competitive tribes emerge in northern New Zealand. They are more expansionistic and aggressive than the other Maori groups and will likely either destroy each other or go on to conquer the rest of their island and perhaps more... Africa- The Portuguese establish a trading post near OTL Cape Town, South Africa. The Americas- The success of the Rio de Janeiro outpost leads Portugal to establish captaincies in its portion of the new world which are ruled over by wealthy nobles. It is unknown how many, if any, of these captaincies will become self-sufficient colonies. - The Spanish outposts in the New World expand a little, gaining a foothold on the mainland in Central America.

1520-1529
Europe
- Combined Aragonese and English forces beat French forces back out of Italy during the Italian War of 1522 (1522-1524). The war causes further distance and tensions between England-Aragon and the French, but strengthens the ties between the English and Aragonese.
- The Ottomans annex the small amount of land from the Crimea Khanate.
- The Baltic Sea War erupts between the Scandinavia (The Kalmar Union) and Poland-Lithuania. In a turn of events the Teutonic Order sides with The Kalmar Union in the war, giving the Kalmar a direct launching point offensive for the war. This action gives the Polish and Lithuanians a location to direct their offensives. The war ends with a stalemate bewteen Poland-Lithunia and Kalmar. The only nation the ends up winning anything is the Teutons. The Order earns the lands of Samogitia as they were the only nation to effectively hold land for a long portion in the war. The Kalmar and Poland-Lithunia do not drop their claims on Teutonic lands, breeding further tension in the Baltics.
- Gerald FitzGerald, 9th Earl of Kildare unites the native Gaelic lords to form the Kingdom of Ireland, and becomes King Gerald of Ireland. He is met with resistance of English Lords in Ireland who do not join his new kingdom.
Asia & Oceania
- The Ottomans annex small kingdoms from the Caucus region. The actions raise tensions between Persia and the Ottomans, as the Persians see it as an encroachment on their land.
- The Maori continue fighting on the northern island, with one growing in size. Other tribes have begun growing in size as well, and form their own tribal kingdoms.
- The Vijayanagar Empire annexes more lands from smaller kingdoms in India.
Africa
- The Adal Caliphate loses to the Ethiopian Empire, causing their lands to be annexed by the empire. Along with many smaller kingdoms becoming their vassals.
- Due to the excess funds being earned from the huge profits in trade, the Venetians set up three outposts in Africa to connect trade from Africa, the Americas, and Asia.
Americas
- Protuguse colonization of newly named, Brasil, continues quite well.
- The Spanish Empire continues their colonization in the Carribean and Central America.
- Montezuma attains more land through conquest and two more vassals under his kingdom's service. However, early on an expeditionary force of Spanish colonials landed in Aztec land, seeing this as a threat, Montezuma had the party killed and collected the gear they had on them including iron swords and primitve muskets meant to hunt animals. News of the Spanish parties' disapperence is written off as a ship lost due to bad weather.

1530-1539
Europe
- In the wake of a strengthening partnership between Aragon and England, France reaches out for allies and forms closer bonds with Ireland and Scotland which are both wary of potential English advance. The three nations form a three way alliance with eachother and promise to help out during times of conflict. - A successionist revolt begins in Brittany by those who see themselves as having a separate national identity to the rest of France. There are concerns that Aragon and England will support the revolt and try to pry the region from French control. - The Teutonic Order forms an alliance with Novgorod, much to the annoyance of the Kalmar Union and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. - Some of the English Lords in Ireland sell their lands to the natives and move back to England in the wake of Irish Independence, seeing an opportunity for continued rule lost. Other Lords hold on rather stubbornly. Asia
- The Ottoman Empire annexes the Sultanate of Ramazan which causes border friction with the Mamluk Egypt. The Mamluks respond by expanding aggressively towards the southern parts of their realm, making a large claim in the upper Nile region and sending an invasion force towards Yemen, annexing land as they go in order to appear stronger in the face of their Ottoman rivals. - The many of the small Kingdoms of the Caucasus take sides with either the Ottomans or the Persians as both powers fight for control in the region. - Vijayanagar establishes a sphere of influence in the nations to its north and begins settling the Maldive Islands. Oceania
- The situation in New Zealand stabilises as one Kingdom assumes dominance over the others, forcing dissidents to set up on the South Island. Africa
- A long rebellion in nothern Ethiopia ends with the people of the region gaining permanent autonomy from the rest of the empire. In the wake of Ethiopian success, the two Somali states to the east unite into a single entity. - The temperate climate around the Cape of Good Hope allows the Portugese outpost there to expand and accept permanent colonial settlement. - Morocco establishes claims on the Canary Islands. In wake of the Spanish and Portugese colonisation of the New World and old tales about Sinbad and the Seven Seas, many Moroccans begin to romanticise the idea of having an overseas colonial empire. The Americas- The Venetians set up a colony in the Lesser Antilles. - One of the Brazillian Captaincies fail. It is divided between the two bordering it. - The Spanish are pushed off the Central American mainland by a large native raid, although their expansion in the islands continues steadily. - Azteca plans an expansion to the south. With their newfound weaponry from Europe, they also plan an invasion of the Mayans...

(LL gave me permission to post off-site) 1550-1559 Europe- King Henry VIII dies, being succeeded by Catherine of Aragon a mere six months later. Henry IX, the former King’s son ascends to the throne and carries out what is now called the “Purges of 1550”, wherein much of the small Protestant minority that has been growing is decisively defeated by use of executions and exilement. The young King also squashes talk of using his royal authority to seize the Church’s properties throughout his Kingdom, indirectly insuring the role the Jesuit order will later take in English education. - The newly formed Kingdom of Ireland and England come to an an agreement, with the English abandoning many plantations in exchange for the rights of those who stay being insured as well as a hefty sum that is later used to finance Henry IX’s Mexican expedition. - Sigismund II Augustus, King of Poland and who is desperate to foster an heir, breaks with the Papacy and forms the Church of Poland. This inaugurates the Polish High Church tradition, and sets the path for Poland to ultimate become a Calvinist nation. The Bible is gradually translated into the various languages of Sigismund’s domains over the next few decades by enthralled Polish Protestants. - Repeated skirmishes between the Hungarians and Ottoman Empire results in the War of 1554/1556, which ends with an Ottoman victory despite the death of the Sultan. The Turks annex Croatia and Bosnia, but are too drained to force an a large indemnity or more directly place Hungary under their vassalage. The legitimate Hungarian King is killed during the course of the conflict, allowing for a Transylvanian usurper to seize the throne. Under intense pressure from the Catholic Church and other Catholic states for his “Devil’s Bargain” with the Turks, the new King establishes the Church of Hungary with the Polish as an example. Like the aforementioned Poland, Hungary will gradually become a Calvinist nation, but unlike the Poles, the Bible is only translated into Hungarian. This is done in order to “Magyarify” the Kingdom. Asia- The new Ottoman Sultan, angry with the death of his father, decides to remove the Patriarch of Constantinople and permanently end the institution. This almost immediately provokes a rebellion by Greeks and Bulgars throughout his domains, which are brutally suppressed. - Attacks on Spanish missionaries in Cambodia provokes a punitive Spanish expedition, which ends with a failed siege of Longvek. Still, the damage dealt by the Spaniards is enough to win large concessions for Catholic proselytizing efforts within the nation. Oceania- Portuguese traders begin to run into conflicts with the Arab-descended Merchant class throughout Indonesia. Religion quickly becomes a major contributing factor, thanks to Portuguese missionaries finding quick success in the western regions of Papua New Guinea. Africa- An attempted rebellion in Kongo is put down with Spanish help, increasing the ties between Spain and the emerging Catholic African nation. The Americas- An English expedition of 4,000 men, of which a young man by the name of Francis Drake is apart of, makes landfall in Mexico in a bid to conquer the Aztecs. Their task is made much easier by the Cocoliztli Epidemic of 1555, which is in the process of reducing the Aztec population by 60% when the English attack. Successfully establish alliances with natives and with the Aztecs suffering from not only the aforementioned native disease but now also European diseases, the English quickly make headway against the Aztecs. Within two years, the once mighty Aztec Empire falls to the English. - Breton fishermen establish Brittany’s first colonies in the New World, which are small hamlets located around the rich fishing grounds of the Grand Banks region.
