i am creating a scenario where the French Revolution ends up playing out like an analog to the Russian Revolution. afterwards, there is a Cold war between Monarchies and Democracy led by Britain and France. I am looking for Analog Ideas and if anyone could help, that would be great. Here is what i got so far: France-Russia Britain-America America-China Napoleon-Stalin Canada-India Florida-Korea Spain-Japan Russia-Germany Poland-Yugoslavia Portugal-Britain Central America-Southeast Asia

Does everything need to be an analog for some part of the Russian Revolution/Cold War? I feel like that would make everything rather predictable.

Agree with Krall - if you wanna draw straight comparisons, you're ignoring and losing the nuances of history. Complexity is not an enemy to be beaten into silence.
Plus you're talking about a period of time spanning some 156 years, if we're talking about the beginning of the French Revolution and the beginning of the Cold War. There's a lot of stuff that happens in that gap - you may want to consider filling it and working your way up, rather than deciding where you want to be and working backwards to fiddle things so it makes some small amount of sense.
Or, if you're talking about a "cold war" situation immediately after the French Revolution, it's worth noting that a cold war frequently involves some reason for a lack of open warfare between the two parties involved. If you want things to reach that stage in the late 18th century, you're probably gonna have to come up with a reason why they're not beating the ever loving shit out of each other.
