December 31st, 2016 23:59:00 Pyongyang, North Korea Amongst the crowds and crowds of thousands of people lining the streets festivities were in the air as they ate, sang, and danced. The streets lined with vendors as they all looked to the night sky. The nation's anthem playing in the background reminding the citizenry of where they lived, and where the people's focus was on. The preparation for a grander and bigger year for the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.
All of the nation's focus in the capital city was on the grand Juche Tower. With the nation's young leader, his close family, and his highest ranking officials and officers of the military watched as they waited for the grandest fire works display in all of the country. And in the people's minds all of the entire world. As the national anthem hit its fever pitch and hit its crescendo the people began to countdown. Ten seconds left until the dawning of the year 2017.
"Sib..."
"Ahob..."
"Yeodeolb..."
"Ilgob..."
"Yug..."
"Daseos..."
"Sa..."
"Se..."
"Du..."
"Hana..."
"Jelo!"
The crowd chanted together and then finally shouted. Finally the crowd was graced with the bright displays of Blues, Reds, and Whites. The colors of their country, but the most prevelant color of all was red. But, amongst all of the bright lights and displays of showmanship the entire crowd was oblivious to what had occured amongst the distraction of the fire works display. Another bright light of its own had swept across the skies above, under the radar of them.
January 1st, 2017 24:01:00 Korean Demilitirized Zone, North Korean Side
The sounds of footsteps could be from yards away, the sounds of yelling and orders could be heard over the top of the yelling. Soldiers could be seen running from objective to objective. The most confused of them all was the guard on duty who stood in one of the many conferance buildings. One moment ago he could see a South Korean Soldier standing right across from him, and in a bright flash of white he was gone. And so was the other half of the conferance building. The only thing he could do was shout for his superior officer, as did others in similar positions. No one knew what to do. And they would not know what to do for a long time.

Interesting idea. Looking forward to seeing more please. I suspect, given N Korea's dependence on foreign charity aid and Chinese support that things are likely to go badly for the population. Especially since the regime, once it realises what has happened, to the degree it can, its likely to tightern its grip further. Both to avoid people escaping and also on general principle when it panics. In the longer term the regime can't survive. Once supplies start to run out and people escape into virgin territory other options become open. Also while it will be extremely dangerous making a new life in the virgin wildness the sheer harshness of life in N Korea probably means people escaping from it are more prepared for the resultant primitive lifestyle that would result. .
Anyway, see how things develop.

Good start - looking forward to seeing where things go from here. I can't see the North Korean regime surviving, but it'd be interesting to see what the North Korean people do on this virgin Earth.

Democratic People's Republic (36 AI)It has been a long 36 years since the incident on the eve and day of the new year. At first many of the upper officials in the DPRK, but due to the heavily controlled information and media of the nation they were able to handle the situation very efficiently. They put out calls to all nations across the world, only to find that they were the only ones. The military even put on active fly-bys over neighboring countries to find that lands were unsettled, almost as if they were untouched by anyone. What was once the large and bustling city of Seoul was nothing more than a large forest with fauna and flora. Kim Jong-un announced that New Year's Day would also be celebrated as "Inmin Haebang-ui Nal" or the People's Liberation Day. The DPRK would celebrate its apparent place in this new and untouched world. No longer living under the supposed fear and dangers of the "evil and corrupt imperialistic and capitalist nations of the Old World." This was their new world. Though things were not as great as the DPRK made it seemed to be. The nation had enough trouble people feeding their people as is, but due to their being no outside relief effort more and more of the citizenry had died, and forced the nation to become more self sufficient in farming to be able to feed themselves. The fresh and untouched South Korean lands were quickly claimed and the newest bits of lands were transformed into mass farms. The place where Seoul once was is now a hub of farming and fishing industry. After the mass expansion into what was once South Korea, quickly turned to the build up of infrastructure to support a recovering and soon to be growing population. Thankfully, they had all the room to grow. After the reclamation of what was once South Korea, Kim Jong-un changed the name of the country to The Democratic People's Republic, dropping Korea from the name, as they were the people of the world. The DPR soon after expansion into South Korea and north into what was what Chinese Manchuria, was expanded into Colonies in both the Shandong Peninsula and along the Yellow River in Hebei. Their was also an effort into claiming the island of Japan, in both the islands of Kyushu and Honshu. Unfortunately the country has not been able to advance in the technological field as much as they wished to have. Due to the efforts of maintaining and expanding. What was once a late seventies and early eighties nation, is now the equivalent of a mid eighties nation. The military simply maintaining themselves and repairing the vehicles they have. Along with that one of their biggest problems is having to deal with would be escapees from the country forming settlements outside of their borders. There are full military divisions dedicated to the capture or even the extermination of these would be refugees. Fortunately even if they do avoid the DPR's sight, they don't have the survival skills to last long. Kim Jong-un now sixty-nine years of age sits upon his seat as the Supreme Leader of the World. His son Kim Jong-soo in place to take power at the age of thirty. Though as the celebration of the New Year comes to a close they will soon discover themselves that they will no longer be entirely alone in this world. December 31st, 2016 23:59:00 Dodoma, TanzaniaThe nation of Tanzania was as well just about to celebrate their own New Year, but at the sound of fireworks going off, the same bright light engulfed the country. Now they too were in a world all alone... or are they?

Ouch!
That's a nasty twist, dumping Tanzania into the same world after the Korean empire has had 36 years to establish itself. Although hopefully the latter will have let its nuclear programme decline after a few years as too expensive and no longer needed. [Think it would take at least a couple of years before the regime accepted they were totally alone rather than possibly just some regional effect and there might be others out there].
How are the Korean's managing for oil/gas? Checking the CIA World Factbook I confirmed my thoughts they had no nature sources themselves, their own energy being a combination of coal and hydro. Might have a coal-to-oil facility. If not their going to have problems maintaining motorised equipment, most especially aircraft, modern ships and much of their army.
Hopefully Korea will be complacent enough that if the regime doesn't fall, they don't find out about Tanzania until the latter has some time to adjust.
Mind you this assumes that other nations don't end up arriving here.
Are all nations coming from OTL Earth? Especially since both are disappearing at the same date it would cause some confusion, not to say panic there. Especially if other countries also disappeared. Would we hear anything about OTL and the impact there or are you just gotorelate events on the new world?
Trying to remember what they used to call this sort of scenario on the AH site.

Steve The Koreans are basically forcing their population into the workforce to provide for the government "and each other." When in reality it's a mass farm build, energy system, and infrastructure build up effort. There are people starving to death, and dying of exhaustion. But, it's all for the greater good for the Democratic People's Republic and the glorious leader.
All nations are coming from OTL Earth, but each Earth is different. The only thing those Earth's share is that one nation from that Earth disappears. That is the only difference in those ATL worlds. They're all the same except on New Year's Eve of 2016 one nation on that planet disappears.
And this is an ISOT scenario, but the catch is I do not choose who gets teleported to Virgo, a randomizer does. Plus it's more fun for myself to be surprised.

Now that is nasty. Especially if really big power get drawn into the game. This could be messy. Not to mention very chaotic. What happens when someone comes through with territory that has already been partially occupied by an earlier arrival? For instance if S Korea, China or Japan came next. I presume the expanded N Korea [calling it that to minimise confusion] would lose those terrotories affected? So their each from parallel versions of our world. Definitely would prefer to be on one where N Korea disappeared rather than Tanzania, although both are likely to cause regional instabilities. I wasn't thinking of ISOT, although that's what it is. On AH, which I left a few years back there was a term for when individual nations get replaced and where they get sent to. Wasn't the dustbin but something like that IIRC.

Yes, if say Japan were to be ISOT'd to this world Japan would super cede N. Korea's holdings and they would disappear. So it's also a dangerous world to live in as well. The N. Koreans and Tanzanians don't know if their neighbors will land over their original lands and their new territory will suddenly disappear.

That'd be pretty nasty if, say, Mexico came in, and then 200 years later America popped in. It'd be just a giant slog.
Reversely, it'd practically be comedic if America came in, gave 1000 years to expand, and then Haiti just popped in. Haiti instantly would just vanish again.
Question, are you doing de facto or de jure states? (And if de jure, from who's perspective?) For example, if Russia popped in, would they instantly own the Crimea but would control Chechnya? Or if Syria came in they'd be missing half of their country? Could ISIS theoretically come in at some point?

So ISIS controlled Syria will be brought over with Syria. And Russia would bring over Crimea and Chechnya since they technically occupy and own those lands as of New Year's Eve of 2016.

78 AI (DPR)The Democratic People's Republic was shocked to finally receive a transmission from another country in the world. But, it was not one they truly expected. It was the simple African country of Tanzania, a nation they had no real relations with in the past, but the Chinese did. In the early stages of their relationship the DPR helped provide aid somewhat to the acclimating nation of Tanzania, but in the hopes of having them fall under their influence, or at most become another communist nation in the world. The DPR would for the first decade of Tanzania's existence would help aid it with the trade of food and more updated military equipment in the region to help provide order. But relations between the two fell apart after continual Tanzania at such a fast rate along east Africa. But, what truly ruined relations was the denial of DPR forces and bases in Tanzania. The DPR then quickly turned on the Tanzanians and cut off trade and aid to the country, and quickly spun their web of lies and began defaming and slandering the Tanzanians as the true enemy. With the constant threat of war imminent, showcasing the Tanzanians as barbaric savages ready for war at any moment. Though not much had truly changed internally inside of the DPR. The continually expansion into China and Japan continued, as well as a bit of island hopping in the islands south of Japan. Though technological advancement had continued its slow progress across the nation, now it was more caught up to something equal to that of an early 90s nation. Improved infrastructure across the DPR meant that more lights were popping up, and Pyongyang was no longer the sole beacon of light in the communist state. The DPR now faces a large problem on across the waves, they are no longer alone and Tanzania is containing to expand, although their population may be growing, the Tanzanian population is a continuous boom, greatly outnumbering them. So the best thing the DPR is secretly fund and aid rebelling forces in the north, and nations deep in the jungles to the west. Now if only they could get them to stop fighting one another. 42 AI (Tanzania)Tanzania's first response was to try and keep order in the more central area of the nation as of the incident. The simple tribesmen and communities further out would have to wait, and they would honestly not notice the change, as the settlements along the borders were rather sparse with it mainly being nothing but nature. However there were reports of more animals than ever before, such as rhinos being seen more often, alongside elephants, and other animals that had historic territories in the area. Tanzania was quickly contacted by North Korea, however they seemed different since they last met. And they were no long just North Korea. The DPR quickly explained the situation to the Tanzanians saying they had been alone on this strange world for 36 years before Tanzania showed up. The two nations started out with one of companionship, the DPR helping them in settling into this new world, and giving them new technology. But the ties between the two nations were severed harshly, after the discovery of growing communist sentiments inside the government directly funded by the DPR. A decade long cooperation was cut short, and the two nations have been at odds ever since with the Tanzanians increasing military effort to help prepare and defend themselves from potential DPR retaliation. But, the building up and growth of the Tanzanian military forces was both a factor of not only external affairs with the DPR. It also included the internal affairs of an ever growing population and borders, such as the growing autonomy of larger ethnic groups within the country. The Tanzanian government extended an offer of autonomy for issues within their own determined and outlined provinces, but they would be required to weigh in on Tanzanian issues as a whole. To the east however, such groups were not so willing to take the offer wanting to govern themselves and rebelling against the Tanzanians, with no real steady border. It does not help that the groups deeper into Africa are at war with one another. So a strong front against the Tanzanian military forces is not possible, but thankfully it is quite the distance to get to the eastern part of the nation as well as traversing the region. The main backers of these groups are unsurprisingly the DPR, who uses the rebel groups as a way to hinder and slow down the Tanzanians in progressing further. December 31st, 2016 23:59:00 Amsterdam, NetherlandsA similar scene as seen previously plays out above the skies of the Netherlands, people celebrating with jovial expressions as they count down in their native language, before being consumed by a blinding light.

Now there are three. The Dutch in theory have the best technology and most developed society plus potentially very rich territory to expand into. However would its advanced technology mean its more badly hit by transition and also would its population grow rapidly enough to secure its future. [Although of course then means potential losses if/when a neighbouring nation comes through, which is a problem for all three states.
