The POD is that Donald Trump is convicted of sexual assualt or hiring illeagal aliens so he does not run for President. The same other candidates who ran in 2016 would have still run. I think Ted Cruz the OTL runner up would have won the Republican nomination. He would have not only lost but have done worse than Donald Trump did OTL in the popular vote. Hillary could have used Cruz's role in the 2013 government shut down as an effective issue. Ted Cruz is more assocaited with social conservatism than Trump is. That would have offended many moderates. In the website Ted Cruz on the issues the first heading under abortion is: Planned Parenthood sells body parts of unborn human beings. So I see Clinton 51 % Cruz 39 % Johnson 8 % Stein 1 %. Clinton carries Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine ( all of it unlike OTL), Massachusettes, Rhode Island, Conniecticutt, New York, New Jersey, Pennslyvania, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Floridia, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, 2nd Congressional District of Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii for 375 electoral votes. Cruz carries South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennesee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisana, Texas, Oklahomia, Kansas, the rest of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah and Alaska for 163 electoral votes. Can someone do a map? I have always liked the maps I have seen on itnernet alternative history, but I don't know how to do one.
