It was all over for Governor Nicholas Chatham. The slave rebellion had all but overwhelmed the increasingly supply-starved American force. Now, a black militia had surrounded the governor's mansion.
There was only one way out for Chatham. He took a bedsheet, tied into a makeshift rope, and hung himself from a ceiling fan.

Goldfein groaned as he read the news of Judea's surrender. NUSA was losing ground everywhere, and there was nothing he could do about it.
As Goldfein stood up, he felt a sharp pain in his temple. As his legs gave way, Goldfein opened his mouth to call for help, but only gibberish came out before he blacked out.

"Shit" said Hunt. "I guess that leaves me in charge."

"I I try to seek peace" said Hunt "Bush's faction will launch a coup. And I fear what will happen if he takes control. Besides, the Empire has already made it clear that they will not allow NUSA to continue existing if we surrender."
