Well, I got my financial aid cut and got purged from the registration for Fall because I apparently did not sign some form which I heard nothing about. I am trying to contact my advisor, but she is out of the office until an unknown time this coming week. Meanwhile, I am scheduled for work several days in the morning- giving me little to no time to get to school (especially with parents wanting me to do mowing in the morning)- including a day where I am scheduled in conflict with my own wishes and my CAP meeting. Not happy at all in slightest. Reminds me of the bureaucratic bullshit I had to deal with when I tried to do a short college course a few years back, though I didn't have to contend with a work schedule at the same time! I hope you get it all sorted out - hopefully your advisor will be sympathetic.

To the best of my knowledge, I am cleared to be in! The financial aid came through, I was able to get all my textbooks- with a bit over $3 left on my Pell Grant (Due to financial aid restrictions, I had to get books at the bookstore- but one was used, and they had 10% off everything but software and ebooks.). Classes start Monday!

Graduated boot camp. Congratz! I thought you weren't shipping out to boot camp until September though - are you no longer on delayed deployment?

If it's Charleston, I might have a few places I suggest you see.

Went to the Minnesota State Fair today (luckily didn't go on Saturday, attendance was at an all-time high of 260,000 in a day). Got a lot of enjoyment out of it. I got another flag to add to my collection, tried Poutin for the first time, learned that I'm descendant of a king and a hangman, it was great.
Highly recommend that if you can ever come to Minnesota in late August, go to the State Fair (there's like no other reason to come to Minnesota during that time anyways)

I'd love to go to the Minnesota Invention Convention (and not just because it was founded by Orville Freeman).
I got an email today saying that I am eligible for the tryouts for Jeopardy in October! It will be my second time, but I am looking forward to it!

Well, it looks like I finished Civ V just in time, because my computer is now broken. Until I can get it fixed (or in the brief bits of time it may work) I won't be working on What Is: The World born at Tlisit much.

I've got two broken laptops sitting around in my room right now, in fact - I seem to go through them quite quickly. Thankfully I have a decent desktop now, which is much harder to break.

Pollworker class? Well, it's how to work the polls- opening, closing, dealing with problems, etc. I've had it a lot before. There have been some new things, like dealing with security and conflict resolution. The class was only a few hours but they packed a lot into it!

Update: Got a temporary monitor. Should work in the meantime until I get my computer properly fixed, or, if nothing else, until I find a way to hook up my computer to my TV I did much the same thing when I broke my laptop's screen. For months I just had it hooked up to a monitor and basically used it as a keyboard.

I'm still doing fine in my courses, and I have been passing my tests with A's! I'm not sure if I'll be doing anything with CAP in response to Hurricane Matthew. I do want to do something, but work my put a damper on things. (For those worried about me here or on AH.com, I'm a ways inland so I'm not in danger.)
