Actually rather surprised that my name choice was used, I was expecting at least one other person to choose a name that blew mine out of the water

Does it have to be a truly "totalitarian" state like 1984's Oceania or OTL's Nazi Germany, or can it just be a repressive dictatorship that lies to its people about something (military, economic, political, etc)?

I think the requirements state it has to be at least totalitarian, though the question should be whether or not a totalitarian one can be Communistic ala the Soviet Union and Maoist China.

I think a repressive dictatorship that willfully lies to its populous could arguably be considered totalitarian, so that should be okay.

Does the state for #131 have to exist for a long amount of time, like for more than a few years? Because I have an idea for a country in the Caribbean (not revealing any details ) that is "tolerated" by the neighboring nations for less than a decade before finally being successfully toppled.

Nope! There are no requirements on how long the state has existed for/will exist for. Also I've just edited the challenge text because it misleadingly implied that you have to show the whole world.

The votes are in for MotF 130! And the winner is... Krall -Honoured Victory-*In a fake Scottish accent* Krall is an amazing cartographer - an artist without parallel in skill, looks, and modesty. It sure is a good thing we base peasants are here to appreciate him, tell him how amazing and special he is, and engage in regular sacrifices to satiate his divine hunger. Krall is an awesome person who totally isn't me, and it's a completely rational, sane idea to give him all of your money and/or blood. *Fake moustache falls off* Uh... ring ring oh! That must be my phone - I have to take this it's- uh, my car is- is in the hospital. *Runs*ToixStory & AshleeNova -Honourable Mention for High Popularity-It's always nice to see collaborations, and this case was no different! ToixStory and AshleeNova's map showing an alternate Nordic empire spanning across Siberia is beautiful and detailed - both in its description and the features on the map. Well done to both of you!

A quick little idea that popped into my head:
MotF 132: The More Things Change...
Make a map of a country that has survived a catastrophic event, but has emerged changed in some fundamental way.

Sounds pretty good. Might work better without the second part - just "Make a map showing a country that has survived a major catastrophic event" would be more concise and a bit less vague. Plus generally countries that survive serious catastrophes must be changed in some way.

I almost think it'd be better if the catastrophic event is left out (how many of those do we have now?) and instead have it be about a state that has survived 1,000+ years

Although 1,000+ years kind of implies major change. How about "Make a map of a country that has survived 1,000+ years but has changed in some fundamental way."

Here I've just had a cracker of an idea for an entry for the latest MOTF, however I'm not capable of competing with the big lads, or even getting a map in on time for that matter.
So, anyone interested in a collaboration?

We've had a few challenge suggestions before similar to those currently being discussed. Here're some I found on the Wiki list, let me know if you like them!

I can do so if you are interested. With me being new to the MotF and all, it'd probably help me get my bearings. Sure, do you have any experience with making maps? I do. I've never made a MotF-tier one, but I have made smaller maps back on the Althistory Wiki, and I have a pretty substantial box of scraps. I use Paint.NET for mapmaking and generally follow a B_Munro/worlda style map. If this isn't your thing, I'm fine to sit this one out. Found something that showcases my general style:

Found something that showcases my general style: That is rather nice, however I to tend to work with worlda maps. This idea requires a city/town map I think. So thanks for the offer but I guess I'll have to decline.

So, anyone interested in a collaboration? I've been trying to think of an idea for the current round but the best I can come up with is a weird sci-fi idea that would need a lot of worldbuilding before I could start and would require me to make maps in a style I have no experience in, so I'd be willing to try a collaboration.
